HomeExchange Day is an open house event that celebrates home exchange around the world, once a year. It’s a great chance to meet members of the HomeExchange community in person, hear their stories, and ask them anything you’re curious about. It’s the perfect opportunity to see if home exchange is right for you—directly from people who actually do it!

On our website HomeExchange Day, you’ll find a complete and regularly updated list and map of all the meetups happening. You can look for the one that’s closest or most convenient for you and use the filters to find hosts with interests similar to yours.
Choose the event you’d like to attend, then click “Sign Up” to go to that event page. To register, click “Reserve your spot” and fill in the required info. Contact the host in advance to confirm your attendance and work out the details—then enjoy the anticipation!

Don’t worry! Our members are warm, welcoming people who love to host. Last year, +3,200 hosts welcomed more than 5,000 guests in total, across multiple countries**.** And guests loved the relaxed, friendly vibe of the events—we know because we asked for feedback right after!
If a “cold meet” makes you uneasy, here’s a tip: once you’ve registered and received your host’s contact info, you can schedule a quick phone call first—break the ice so it won’t feel like you’re walking into a stranger’s home. And not all events take place in private homes—some are hosted in parks, at the beach, libraries, cafés, or other public spots 😎.
Here’s a testimonial from our member Kelly who hosted an event last year:

Each host runs their event independently. Some prepare a short presentation, others will walk you through the website. All of them will answer your questions and share their travel stories with HomeExchange. You might even be offered a cup of coffee or tea—and maybe a slice of cake. Check the event descriptions and reach out to the host ahead of time if you have questions.

Of course you can! Just sign up for the meetup you want and let your host know in the message box that you're already a member so they can prepare.
