What is a DIFT? (Donation as a Gift)
Created by Frédéric Mazella, founder of BlaBlaCar, the DIFT (Donation et Gift) initiative allows companies to offer their teams or clients donations instead of traditional corporate gifts or goodies.

👉 Why is this important?
Associations are going through a crisis, and businesses have a key role to play. By supporting social and environmental causes, they can make a direct impact, strengthen solidarity, and show their commitment.
🫶 The results of the operation:

💡 Lessons learned:
- Employee engagement: participation was very positive, with 78% participation and a total of €15,000 raised thanks to donations of €100 per employee. We received a lot of very positive feedback on the campaign.
- Choice of associations: Dift offers a wide selection of associations. To facilitate employee engagement, it is important to provide a pre-selection. We have therefore prioritized associations related to HomeExchange's business, ensuring consistency between our values and the causes we support.
- Strengthening corporate culture: the initiative reinforced the spirit of solidarity and social commitment within the company, while helping to foster employee buy-in to shared values.
➡️ What we could do better
- Define a more structured philanthropic strategy, in collaboration with our stakeholders. (This is perfect timing, as it is a project for 2025!)
- Establishing relationships with associations that go beyond financial support. Although financial donations are essential, it is crucial to develop deeper and more lasting partnerships with associations, especially since many of them are facing critical situations. This would strengthen the impact of our work and support associations in a more comprehensive way (for example, by offering visibility, resources or support).
- Include our community in the selection process and allocation of donations.
